The COMPLETE digital publisher

Over at BookMachine’s LinkedIn group of late, there’s been some chatter around the subject of publishing courses. With this in mind, we’ll be aiming to post details of courses we see coming up that might just be worth a look. First up, is The Complete Digital Publisher.

The course

The London-based Digital Publisher course is a firm favourite at The Publishing Training Centre (PTC). Participants from as far afield as Hong Kong, Australia, Poland and South Africa have swapped experiences with digital entrepreneurs from leading UK publishing houses. The Complete Digital Publisher plans to build on this success, this time via an intensive four-day residential course covering the entire digital publishing process. During the course you’ll be able to put forward your own ideas and share experiences with the group, in addition to learning an array of new principles.

What does it involve?

The Complete Digital Publisher expands the comprehensive overview of the digital publishing process offered by The Digital Publisher and includes guided project work in the evenings, which will be undertaken in teams in order to apply the principles that you’ve learnt throughout the day. This project work will be presented to a panel of top-flight publishers and representatives from technology companies for feedback on the final day. Jon White, course director and David Attwooll, Director of David Attwooll Associates, will be chairing the panel.

Networking

The networking opportunities look  fantastic. As much as being able to benefit from the experience of the tutors themselves, you can also enjoy discussions with like-minded colleagues and swap practical tips and advice. This has actually contributed to the creation of the residential course; so the networking can continue through to the evening…
