It’s only a month to go. Gulp.

In 33 days I’ll be running the London Marathon: the culmination of a stop-start, alcohol free, 4 months of lurching from couch to 26 miles.

I’m doing this in support of Book Aid International, a fantastic charity, and one very familiar to us publishing-types. Book Aid works to increase access to books and support literacy, education and development in sub-Saharan Africa.

  • In the past year, Book Aid has provided 543,280 new books to over 2,000 libraries
  • Since 1954, they’ve sent more than 30 million books to partner libraries

We think these are phenomenal stats, and BookMachine wants to do all we can to help support this great cause. Over the next month in the run up (a’thankyou) to the event, the site will be featuring several running, and Book Aid related posts.

Our funding target is £2,000. We’re on our way there, and with your help we’re convinced we can do it.

If you are able to give a donation, it would be hugely appreciated.

See you on the finish line (he says confidently).
