We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Business Development Executive to work in the Higher Education Sales team of a leading Educational and Academic publisher. This is home-based role covering East and South East UK.

Key duties:

  • Maximise revenue and achieve agreed annual sales target through sale of print and digital products to higher education institutions and academics
  • Visit key higher education institutions to promote products and solutions within the territory
  • Identify new business, plan strategies and tactics
  • Plan and attend customer and prospect meetings
  • Follow through all stages of the sales cycle, identifying customer needs and offering solutions
  • Prepare and deliver sales presentations, proposals and close sales

Experience / skills required:

  • Proven track record of sales success in the educational publishing industry
  • Previous field sales experience
  • A proven understanding of consultative relationship-selling is required
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation and communication skills
  • Organised with strong time management and planning skills
  • A full driving licence and flexibility to travel throughout the territory is essential
