BookMachine is launching a creative events and marketing agency

events and marketing agency

The mission of BookMachine Works is to create outstanding events and unrivaled marketing campaigns for the publishing industry.

BookMachine have built a successful community, running over 100 events and growing BookMachine.org into a destination for the publishing industry (with around 14,000 visits a month). The team behind BookMachine are now creating a new arm for marketing and events, bringing together an expanded lineup of professionals with cross-industry skills.

BookMachine Works will offer a range of services including event management and programming, digital and social media marketing, book launches, project management, website management and launches, copy-writing and copy editing.

Laura Summers, Bookmachine co-founder, will lead the new venture and personally offer her skills to event management, digital marketing, digital publishing and business development projects. Alongside Laura the agency will include marketer and copy-writer Bea Long, who implemented marketing campaigns for a range of high-profile authors at Hodder & Stoughton including David Mitchell and James Bowen (A Street Cat Named Bob); Nicola Slavin, an award-winning copy-writer and digital marketer who has worked on such high-profile brands as Roald Dahl and J.K. Rowling’s Pottermore; Suzanne Kavanagh, an IDM-qualified strategic marketer with 20+ years’ experience in publishing; and Sarah Richardson, an experienced project manager and children’s brand editor.

Laura Summers said: “We are launching BookMachine Works with a strong brand and proven track record of industry events and marketing campaigns. In 2017, outsourcing is the norm in the publishing industry, but experts are needed to make it run successfully. Our team can manage events, run marketing campaigns and help with copy-writing or project management – we can help you to scale up quickly, or step in when you need an extra pair of hands on deck. By bringing together five successful industry professionals, we are able to leverage the right skills for each project.”

Clients at launch include Emerald Publishing Group, Macmillan Children’s Group, GL Assessment, EMC Design, Just Content and Geethik Technologies.

Over 300 people have signed up to celebrate the launch at an informal drinks event at the London Book Fair on Wednesday 15th March 2017. https://bookmachine.org/event/bookmachine-london-book-fair-2017/
