Book Aid International announced as Blackwell’s charity of the year 2017

Book Aid International

The UK’s largest academic and specialist bookseller, Blackwell’s UK, has named Book Aid International as its Charity of the Year for 2017. Shops in England, Scotland and Wales will support the charity by donating proceeds from its plastic bags sales to the charity throughout 2017. The Blackwell’s team will also be working with Book Aid International throughout 2017 to generate additional funds and raise awareness of Book Aid International’s work.

Book Aid International is the UK’s leading international book donation and library development charity. Every year the charity sends more than one million books to thousands of libraries in communities where people would otherwise not be able to access books. These books range from medical texts to children’s books to novels to biographies and reach an estimated 24 million people every year.

It costs just £2 for Book Aid International to send a book to a community where people would not otherwise be able to access books, so every penny raised through the partnership will have huge value. The charity would like to thank Blackwell’s for its support.
