“A designer can not claim to have truly designed something until they also know how it will be made.”Terence Conran
Do you use InDesign and want to be sure that your page design can be produced as you expect? Do you work in production and want to be sure your ‘print ready files’ are actually that, before they go to the printer?
This 3-week online course will give the background information and use the latest methods to demystify the technical topics of book production.
Run by Ken Jones (Circular Software and BookMachine Editorial Board) who has worked as Technical Production Manger for Penguin and DK and now offers software, training and advice to publishers such as Quarto Group, Bonnier Books and Pan Macmillan on how to get the best from their print and digital workflow.
“Ken is a great trainer! He combines technical information and pro techniques with an approachable, relaxed and friendly style.”Neil Smith
“Ken does the near-impossible: takes colour management and makes it clear, understandable, and actually fun to learn about.”Nigel French
The online format will fit into your busy working life. Join the session during your lunch break (13.00 – 14.00) for three consecutive weeks and work on the practice activities in your own time. Recordings of the course will be available to watch for one month after it is delivered.
