A loyal community is a powerful tool for getting people to engage with your publisher brand, and for you to be able to sell more books. BookMachine have asked two experts to share their experience of successfully building online communities.
Will Rycroft is Community Manager at VINTAGE where he seeks to engage the reading community wherever they are with his passion for books. He commissions and creates digital content for VINTAGE’s social media channels and the new Penguin consumer website. You can follow his musings on Twitter, his vlog on YouTube and hear him interviewing authors and more on the VINTAGE Podcast. Follow @vintagebooks
Sara Perkins has over twenty years of online community management which began in the days before social media when she worked for a music start-up providing internet recording studios for musicians. Sara has since worked with major brands including Mills & Boon, Mothercare and currently Disney on their social media and community strategies. She is also part of the Disney Foresight Team looking at future tech and social trends. Follow @sarabran
Each speaker will talk for 15 minutes about their experience.
BookMachine will then reveal a new community platform for the publishing industry, and look at how you can use it to join ‘the people who make publishing happen’.
“BookMachine Nights” is an informal event series. You are unlikely to get a seat, so wear comfy shoes!
