Selected as one of The Booksellers Rising Stars of 2021 she has almost a decade of experience in her field working for both Penguin Random House and HarperCollins\, then venturing to freelance in 2018. She currently works on projects in collaboration with most of the big publishing houses worldwide. Some of her recent achievements include winning the Books Are My Bag Beautiful Book Award 2019 for The Binding by Bridget Collins and the ABCD Young Adult Book Cover Award 2021 for Raybearer by Jordan Ifueko. She has designed and illustrated titles such as Ariadne by Jennifer Saint\, the Ember in the Ashes series by Sabaa Tahir\, Careless by Kirsty Capes\, and Pandora by Susan Stokes-Chapman. SUMMARY:Festive Publishers' Walk and Talk
DESCRIPTION:Walk and Talk with the BookMachine team this festive season on Thursday 9th December from 2:30pm – 6pm GMT\, with drinks for members from 6–8pm GMT.\n  \nWe’re kicking off the Christmas festivities with an in-person walking tour of Greenwich\, London* followed by drinks outside a bar near to the BookMachine London Hub office (free for BookMachine members only). \n  \nEveryone and anyone working in and around publishing (or is aspiring to!) is welcome to join us for the walk as we get some exercise\, with a fix of Christmas cheer\, whilst connecting with others across the publishing industry. If you’re unable to make it for the walk\, join us for drinks at the end. \n  \nSo we know when to expect you\, please tell us at which point you will be joining us when you book your spot. \n  \nThe walks will be led by Justyna Pezik\, an experienced walker and hiker. Justyna has worked in publishing for 22 years\, both in editorial and rights. In her spare time she leads community walks for a local charity\, so she knows her stuff. \n  \nWe’ll be taking your safety very seriously during the event by meeting outside\, keeping our distance and ending the walk with drinks outdoors. DESCRIPTION:Celebrate the festive season virtually with BookMachine at our Christmas Comedy event!\n  \nJoin us on Zoom on Wednesday 15th December from 6pm–7pm GMT to connect\, unwind and laugh with other publishing professionals and ring in the holiday season. \n  \nWe’ll be joined by three fantastic comics – Mel Byron\, Don Biswas and Capriella Hooper – who are sure to regale you with stories\, scenarios and situations that will have you chuckling on the other end of the video screen. \n  \nYou’ll also get the chance to meet and mingle with other attendees during the icebreaker before the comedy starts. \n  \nThis event has been designed to bring you a fun\, informal and friendly way of forging connections across the publishing industry and getting in to the festive spirit before 2022 arrives. We very much hope you can join us! \n  \nBoth members and non-members are welcome to join us!
