Marketing Executive – subscriptions [JOB POSTING]

A global B2B publishing and events company is looking to hire a career-minded Marketing Executive to help drive forward a wide range of successful products aimed at professionals in their field.

Reporting to the Subscriptions & Books Manager, this role will involve developing and implementing new marketing strategies and campaigns to promote the company’s products in legal markets and increase subscription levels, including renewals, events, websites in print and digital formats.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and implementing marketing plans to increase subscription levels
  • Creating email marketing campaigns for all books and subscription products
  • Producing and coordinating marketing schedules for books
  • Working with Editors, Commissioning Editors and other department members to generate high quality marketing copy for subscriptions, books and Journals awards
  • Producing relevant, up-to-date and accurate high quality marketing copy for subscriptions, books and awards
  • Maintaining and updating promotional content on the company’s website
  • Undertaking statistical analysis and market research, including keeping atop of the commercial market; reporting to the Subscriptions & Books Manager on marketing activity results

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Degree level education or equivalent
  • Strong digital marketing experience, including email marketing, social media and database analytics
  • Experience in marketing for B2B magazine subscriptions
  • Commercial awareness with a keen eye for detail

  • Strong copywriting skills

Marketing Director – Maternity [JOB POSTING]

Overseeing a team of seven, you will drive campaigns for the full range of Hodder’s publishing, from managing top-level brand authors such as Jodi Picoult, John Grisham, David Mitchell and Deliciously Ella to building word-of-mouth bestsellers and developing dynamic pitches to attract new talent.

A strong leader and inspirational manager, you will ensure the highest standards of creativity and delivery, within budget and to tight deadlines. Working directly on the marketing strategy and campaigns for key brands, you will be a team player and independent decision-maker.

Digital marketing experience and demonstrable creative ability are vital in this role, as is commercial awareness, specifically of the book publishing market. The successful candidate will have proven experience of both people management and budget management, and an ability to motivate themselves and their team to deliver quality work to deadline in an efficient, organised manner. A strong visual sense and marketing instinct, alongside excellent communication skills will ensure that business needs are met with creative vision.
