Production Assistant – Yate, UK [JOB POSTING]

Job Title: Production Assistant

Job Location: Yate, UK

Small world creations, part of The Quarto Group, is recruiting a production assistant to join their busy production department. Based in Yate, this role supports our existing team of production manager, controller and pre-press manager in the manufacture and supply of novelty children’s books for our international customer base.

The successful candidate will have worked in an office environment, ideally in publishing or the print industry, and will have good communication skills and a methodical and organised approach.  Their responsibilities will include day to day admin, liaising with printers and customers, sending ozalids and book samples internationally and handling shipping documents.  A good working knowledge of Excel is important alongside general computer skills and good numeracy.

Production Assistant

Production Assistant in London [JOB POSTING]

Quarto Publishing Group, UK is looking for an enthusiastic Production Assistant to join our busy team based in our office in Central London near Angel tube station. This is a great opportunity to work on a wide range of adult non-fiction titles (4-colour and mono). This role is suitable for someone who is genuinely interested in a book production career with good office / admin experience, can demonstrate good multi-tasking skills and hit the ground running.

Key responsibilities of this role will include providing administrative support to the Production department, dealing with multiple co-edition printings and keeping the constantly reprinting backlist on schedule. You will be interacting with the editorial and design teams, suppliers, customers and printers so strong communication skills are essential. You will also ensure the high quality of each title.

The successful candidate will have had some office experience and be keen to learn about the production process. You will also have a keen eye for detail, be numerate with strong IT skills and have a flexible, positive attitude.

Production Assistant at Penguin Books [JOB POSTING]

Penguin LogoA great new opportunity has arisen for a proactive and detail-orientated individual to join the Penguin Production team as a Production Assistant.

The role will be responsible for managing the Penguin Press mono back list which incorporates high profile authors such as Malcolm Gladwell, Keri Smith and Daniel Khaneman, as well as the prestigious Penguin Classics list.

Working closely with both internal colleagues and external suppliers, you will be responsible for delivering all reprints to budget, on schedule and to a consistently high quality.

We’re looking for a highly organised individual to cover all aspects of production – estimating, scheduling, managing content updates to both the print and digital formats, as well as administration support for the wider Production team.  You’ll also need to use your strong IT skills to make this role a success.

The successful applicant will be a first rate communicator, self-motivated and able to demonstrate the ability to multi-task and effectively prioritise. They will be equally happy working independently or as part of a team. A keen eye for detail is essential, as well as the ability to balance a varied workload whilst remaining calm under pressure.
