Walk and Talk with the BookMachine team this festive season on Thursday 9th December from 2:30pm – 6pm GMT, with drinks for members from 6–8pm GMT.

We’re kicking off the Christmas festivities with an in-person walking tour of Greenwich, London* followed by drinks outside a bar near to the BookMachine London Hub office (free for BookMachine members only).

Everyone and anyone working in and around publishing (or is aspiring to!) is welcome to join us for the walk as we get some exercise, with a fix of Christmas cheer, whilst connecting with others across the publishing industry. If you’re unable to make it for the walk, join us for drinks at the end.

So we know when to expect you, please tell us at which point you will be joining us when you book your spot.

The walks will be led by Justyna Pezik, an experienced walker and hiker. Justyna has worked in publishing for 22 years, both in editorial and rights. In her spare time she leads community walks for a local charity, so she knows her stuff.

We’ll be taking your safety very seriously during the event by meeting outside, keeping our distance and ending the walk with drinks outdoors. Be sure to wrap up warm!

*Sorry to all our far-flung members across the UK and wider world who cannot make this event. There will be an online Christmas event too. Watch this space!

FREE for BookMachine members

Everyone else: Donation of £1 to £5 (pay what you can afford) for non-members – please bring a cash donation with you on the day.

(All fees will be donated to our charity partner of the year, Book Aid International. BookMachine will match donations.)

Schedule:

This is a flexible schedule to allow you to dip in and out of the bits you’ll enjoy the most. Please tell us at which point you will be joining us when you book your spot.

14:30 – Meet at Greenwich Station (Lambard House, Greenwich High Rd, London SE10 8JQ) and then walk through Greenwich Park, admiring the views

16:00 – Next stop Greenwich Market for all the Christmas vibes and mulled wine

17:00 – Start the walk to North Greenwich via the Cutty Sark DLR station (let us know if you are joining us at this point and we will pick you up from the station)

17.55 – Walk finishes at Jubilee Line North Greenwich tube station

18:00 – Drinks at the outside bar nearby to the BookMachine London Hub office in the Design District, next to North Greenwich tube station.
