Baverstock, Charkin and Somerville on how to market books
To celebrate the new version of How to Market Books (5th Edition) author Alison Baverstock will be joined by Richard Charkin, President of the International Publishers Association and Clare Somerville, Deputy MD of Hachette Children’s Books to share ‘5 Marketing tips that last’.
Alison Baverstock’s How to Market Books has established itself as the industry standard text on marketing for the publishing industry, and the go-to reference guide for professionals and students alike. This book launch, powered by BookMachine, will explore 5 marketing tips that last. Books can be bought on the night, via Blackwell’s, with a 20% discount.
Dr Alison Baverstock was a publisher, full-time and freelance, for a variety of organisations. She first published the first edition of How to Market Books in 1990. Translated 15 times, it is used worldwide, both within industry and academia.
Dr Alison Baverstock says: ‘’Working with BookMachine on the launch is giving the 5th edition visibility to professionals throughout the trade. Given how much change there has been, updating the work was a massive task – but now that it’s done I’m immensely pleased with the outcome. And I’m looking forward to celebrating both the book and the role of the marketer in this rapidly changing landscape.’
Laura Summers of BookMachine says: ‘This is going to be a fun evening, where industry professionals can meet, learn and discuss their experiences of marketing books. We hope that this event will help to get a copy of How to Market Books into as many marketing departments as possible’.
