Getty Images are all over new publishing channel
January saw the launch of “BookMachine channels” – a place for publishing professionals to head for the very latest information about book design, publicity, editorial or production. Getty Images are supporting the design channel and showcasing their spectacular images.
Each channel provides publishing professionals with a snapshot of targeted information – from the latest news, to events and jobs; all relating to their line of work. An editor, for example, can go to the editorial channel and find advice about PDF proofreading, picking book titles and author negotiations. An editorial-specific jobs feed and related events will be added to the page shortly.
Getty Images have chosen 5 stunning images for the design channel, and will provide more content alongside other contributors through the year. Toby Hopkins of Getty Images commented: “It’s a great opportunity to focus on some of the photography, video and associated services we provide to publishers – and to talk about some of the amazing work our clients and partners do in design. Good design is foundational to publishing, so we are really pleased that BookMachine are focusing on it as one of their key publishing themes.”
The theme of design and publishing is prominent on BookMachine at the moment, with the event ‘Why Design Matters‘, selling out in just two days. With a long waiting list for the event, there will certainly be more events on these theme coming later this year.
