For the second time, the Frankfurt Book Fair is awarding its Wildcard. The candidate whose exhibition concept manages to win over the judges will be awarded the grand prize: an 8-sqm-stand at the world’s largest fair for content.

For last year’s Wildcard, there were 130 applications from over 30 countries. The business models ranged from digital bookshelves and literature apps about crowdfunding for authors to cross-media stories for children and many other proposals. The winner was Plötz & Betzholz Verlag – a publishing startup founded by two late-twenty-somethings specialised in YouTube stars.

“Winning the Wildcard was a milestone in our company’s brief history. I’ll even venture to say that things never would have moved forward as quickly without the attention it brought us: Just a few months later we were taken over by Ullstein Buchverlage GmbH”, reports Felix Plötz of Plötz & Betzholz Verlag.

Interested in winning a stand at the Frankfurt Book Fair? Then register and submit your application by 31 May 2016 here: www.book-fair.com/wildcard
