Nikki DupinAbout Nikki

Nikki is the creative director of independent London-based design studio, Studio Nic&Lou, specialising in beautifully-packaged and well-considered design solutions for publishing houses and other organisations.

Studio Nic&Lou has a small team of 3 designers, with Nikki leading as Creative Director. Since launching 12 years ago, the studio has evolved into the go-to team for stylish, stand-out, commercially-successful book design that packs a big design punch. Nikki gets to work with an amazing team of ambitious creative people, both in the studio and through collaboration with other teams. She also creates on a huge variety of projects from small independently-published books to more commercially successful titles. Nikki uses her experience and expertise to always push boundaries and create stand-out design solutions for any project she works on.

Key achievements in her career to date include creating the Pinch of Nom brand, one of the most successful publishing stories of all time, and working successfully with a range of high profile authors from Melissa Hemsley, Paul Hollywood, Joe Wicks and Gino DeCampo to Victoria Beckham, Twiggy, and the McCartneys.

2022 has ben a stand-out year for the studio seeing more projects designed and commissions fullfilled than any other year. For Nikki, her personal design highlights include Bake by Paul Hollywood and Made with Love by Tom Daley, both huge productions featuring household names. Dame Deborah James’s book How To Live When You Could Be Dead was a great moment for Nikki and is considered in the industry to be an iconic cover design. Nikki hopes to build on the success of 2022 this coming year and continue to create beautiful commercial design that shines out on any book shelf.

Her career to date prior to setting up the studio includes 5 years as Senior Designer and Designer Editor at British Elle magazine then a further 5 years as Senior Designer at Penguin Books.
