Walk and Talk WEBSITE

Join us for our next Walk and Talk event, where you can meet up safely outdoors. Everyone is welcome to join us as we get some exercise – with a fix of nature – whilst connecting with others across the publishing industry.

Our next walk will take place on Sunday 19th September at the River Lee Country Park in Cheshunt, UK*. To take part, please RSVP at the bottom of this page. We hope you join us!

It will be led by Laurence Koster, Commissioning Editor at Cambridge University Press & Assessment, where he publishes multi-component print and digital products for Primary English Language Teaching, for learners worldwide. He works in a global team based in the UK, Spain and Mexico. Laurence has hiked in far-flung places like Iceland, as well as much closer to home in Cambridgeshire.

*Sorry to all our members across the UK and wider world who cannot make this event. We would love to extend this to members elsewhere – so if you are interested in setting up your own Walk and Talk, please do get in touch!

Costs:

FREE for BookMachine members

Everyone else: Donation of £1 to £5 (pay what you can afford) for non-members – please bring a cash donation with you on the day.

(All fees will be donated to our charity partner of the year, Book Aid International. BookMachine will match donations.)

Schedule:

10am – Meet at Cheshunt Railway Station, Waltham Cross, EN8 9AQ

The walk will be a total of 5.5 miles with 2+ hours of walking, plus a 1-hour stop for lunch at Lee Valley White Water Centre Terrace Bar & Café (Station Road, Waltham Cross, EN9 1AB). Please note they accept card payments only at the café.

The route will be very flexible, with plenty of opportunities to extend or adapt the route on the day depending on the group. It’s also possible to leave after lunch from Waltham Cross station. There’s even art to look at on the way! You can view a copy of the art route here.
