UK Publishers’ Walk & Talk: Regent’s Park & Primrose Hill
15 May, 2022 @ 10:30 am - 4:00 pm BST
Event Navigation
We’re back with the first of our 2022 Walk & Talk events!
After a successful series of social walks in 2021, helping to ease people in publishing out of lockdown life, we are delighted to be gathering once again on Sunday 15th May for our first walk of the year in Regent’s Park, London.*
Everyone is welcome to join us as we get some exercise – with a fix of nature – whilst chatting with others across the publishing industry. If you are craving connection and would like to meet new people this year, we would love to see you there!
Please sign up above to let us know you’ll be coming along.
The walk will be led by Justyna Pezik, an experienced walker and hiker. Justyna has worked in publishing for 22 years, both in editorial and rights. In her spare time she leads community walks for a local charity, so she knows her stuff!
*Sorry to anyone located in the rest of the UK and wider world and who cannot make this event. If you would like to host your own Walk & Talk in your local area, please get in touch with us, and we can help to facilitate this for you!
Costs:
FREE for BookMachine members
Everyone else: Donation of £1 to £5 (pay what you can afford) for non-members – please bring a cash donation with you on the day.
All fees will go towards charity SOS Children’s Villages, who are currently working to house hundreds of Ukrainian children. BookMachine will match donations.
The route:
Schedule:
10:30am – We will meet at the street level of Regent’s Park Underground Station (Marylebone Rd, London NW1 5HA) at 10.30am.
After about a 1-hour walk through the park, we will hike up the Primrose Hill and stop there to admire the view of London.
12:30pm – We walk down and stop for drinks and lunch for about an hour in a cafe near Primrose Hill Road (venue to follow).
Afterwards, we’ll walk for approximately 1.5 hours back initially along Regent’s Canal and then towards the Rose Garden, where we can hopefully see many different types of roses in blossom.
3:30-4pm – We will then return to Regent’s Park Underground Station, where the walk will finish.
What to bring:
Please bring comfortable shoes, plenty of water, a waterproof jacket in case of showers, and a smile!
Getting there:
If you are travelling by train, Regent’s Park Underground Station is on the Bakerloo (brown) London Underground line. Please check the TFL website for information on planned line closures or works on the weekend of our walk. The Bakerloo line does not have any planned closures on this day at the moment.
If you are travelling by bus, the numbers 18, 27, 30, 205 and 435 arrive at Regent’s Park bus stops B and A.
