Indie British Author Gets 6-figure Deal Ahead Of Frankfurt
Grand Central Publishing (Hachette) have bought English language rights in a good six-figure deal in bestselling ‘indie’ author Kirsty Moseley’s next two novels.
Fighting to be free was first published on Wattpad and attracted over 5.7 million online reads. GCP will publish in the US in print and digital in March 2016; Book 2, Worth fighting for, will follow in Autumn 2016.
Part coming-of-age story, part romance, with an action-packed mystery element, it will appeal to fans of Jennifer L Armentrout, Jay Crownover, Abbi Glines, Jamie McGuire, Colleen Hoover and Sophie Jackson.
Set in the USA, the novel follows Jamie Cole, 18, and Ellie Pearce, 17, and opens with Jamie being released from juvenile detention where he served time for murder.
Kirsty Moseley lives in Norfolk and is the author of six self-published NA romance novels which have sold an amazing 720,000 copies in English since 2012.
Her debut, The boy who sneaks in my bedroom window was a Top 10 Finalist in the 2012 Goodreads Choice Awards and has now sold close to 250,000 copies.
UK rights are currently being negotiated.
The author’s agent, Lorella Belli at the Lorella Belli Literary Agency, is selling translation and other rights in the new books as well as in the author’s backlist. This is one of the key title the agency is taking to the Frankfurt book fair.
