BookTrust, Britain’s largest reading charity, invites entries from publishers for the Blue Peter Book Awards 2017.

The 2017 Awards will celebrate great children’s books published in the last year in two categories: Best Story and Best Book with Facts.

There will be three shortlisted books for each award chosen by a panel of judges and announced on Blue Peter in December 2016. The judging panel will be announced in due course.

Approximately 200 pupils in years 5 and 6 from schools across the UK will read the shortlisted books and vote for their favourite in each category. The two winning books will be announced on the Blue Peter programme on 23 February 2017, with the winning authors and illustrators appearing on the live show on World Book Day on 2 March 2017.

The deadline for submissions is 5pm GMT, Friday 29 July 2016.
