If you aren’t sure what to expect, you can check out reviews from Daniela Nava (The Naked Editor), Felice Howden (Little, Brown) and Elizabeth Warren (Hodder Education).

We’ll be kicking off at 5.30pm, so there’ll be plenty of time to mingle and take advantage of the “5 o’clock tails”. Just look out for the BookMachine signs and friendly faces and you’ll soon find out why ‘BookMachine is the most fun you can have in publishing with your clothes on‘ (according to Lisa Goll, of the London Writers’ Cafe).

Who goes to BookMachine parties?

Well, a combination of people really. First of all you’ve got publishing professionals – designers, editors, publishers, marketeers, sales professionals. Then there’s book lovers and writers. And not to forget, a few app developers, games designers and publishing students.

What happens?

We’ve organised talks, gimmicks and contests in the past, but we’ve found that the best ingredients for a good party are simply a great venue, chatty people and some drinks. Don’t worry if you don’t know anyone – it’s always a friendly crowd!

You’ll be able to see the list of attendees here, as folks sign up – be sure to let us know if there’s anyone particular you’d like to meet; and we’ll happily ‘do the intros’.

Can’t wait to see you then!

*Meanwhile, why not sign up for an early invite to bookmachine.me, coming soon for the people who make publishing happen.
