The Job Profile
Simon & Schuster UK is looking for a Marketing and Publicity Assistant to join their Marking & Publicity team.
Reporting to the Head of Publicity and the Senior Marketing Manager, this role will provide administrative and campaign support to the Publicity and Marketing teams. The role will contribute to the smooth planning and delivery of campaigns across the division and ensuring effective coordination of key processes and deadlines.
The Job Role
The Marketing & Publicity Assistant responsibilities will including invoicing, scheduling meetings and taking minutes, monitoring enquiries, maintaining databases, managing consumer newsletters, arranging travel, supporting mailings, and compiling press catalogues and gift guides.
The role will act as a key point of contact internally and externally and will also support the delivery of publicity and marketing campaigns.
The Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will have a proactive, can-do attitude and be detail-oriented, practical, and curious, with a genuine passion for books and the way in which publishers engage and excite readers. They will demonstrate adaptability, initiative, excellent communication, and strong organisational and problem-solving skills, alongside the ability to work confidently to deadlines.
This role does not require prior publishing experience. While administrative experience is advantageous, we welcome and encourage applications from candidates who can demonstrate strong organisational skills, transferable experience, and a genuine eagerness to learn and take their first step into a publishing career.
Please note due to the nature of the industry and role candidate maybe required to work outside of hours to help support at events.
