Members’ Hub: Coaching, advice and discussion (May session)

5 May, 2021 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm BST

Free
Members' Hub

Join us on Wednesday 5th May, 2–3pm BST (9–10am EST / 3–4pm CET) for the next Members’ Hub!

These sessions are no-pressure, friendly spaces for BookMachine members who would like to take part in peer-to-peer coaching, advice and discussion each month.

No need to bring big ideas to the table or have anything perfectly thought out. Similar to our popular end-of-month Members’ Mixers, it’s all about making connections remotely with publishing people, whilst having open discussions about where you’re at and what you would like to achieve professionally. Crucially, you can get feedback and support, share thoughts with each other and feel more motivated.

Please RSVP below for the Zoom link, and be sure to read the ground rules below so you know how the session will work. We look forward to seeing you there!

What our members think

“It was great! The best thing for me is meeting other enthusiastic people! … I would definitely be interested in whatever else you decide to put on.” Claire Philip

“I really enjoyed how structured it was. We each had our 15 minutes, we explained our issue/idea and then got/gave feedback. It was so good to have a sounding board for my ideas, as well as to be able to feel useful to others by giving my own advice and ideas to help them. It was a great jumping off point for a lot of ideas, but also some valuable new contacts in the publishing world.” Sam Ritchter

“The meeting allowed everyone to share their ideas and ventures in a conducive, creative and supportive setting. I came away fully charged with enthusiasm – ready for the next challenge.” Anne Stairmand

Who is the Members’ Hub for?

Everyone is welcome! All members can join the session for coaching, advice and discussion with fellow publishing people from across the industry.

The Members’ Hub is a great space to think creatively. So even if you don’t have a particular topic you would like to discuss, if you’re feeling stuck, thinking about starting something new, or need a sounding board, this session is for you!

How does it work?

Once everyone is in the Zoom meeting, you’ll be invited to join smaller groups of up to 4 people. You’ll each get 15 minutes of focus time to talk about your career, work, project or idea – and for the group to offer informal coaching, advice, discussion and support.

At the end of the session, everyone will come back together as a group to wrap up the session and pose any final thoughts.

The ground rules

To get the most out of the Ideas Hub session and ensure it runs smoothly we please ask you to:

  • Arrive on time – the Zoom meeting will be locked 5 minutes after the start time
  • Ensure you are free for the duration of the session – out of respect for the other members in your group, we ask that you don’t drop in and out of this one
  • Contribute during other members’ time – these groups will work best if everyone is involved
