About Tom
Tom Chalmers is the Managing Director of Legend Times, a group of publishing companies he has founded. He started his first company in 2005 when aged 25, Legend Press, a fiction book publisher. He later launched Legend Business, a business book publisher, followed by New Generation Publishing, a self-publishing company. He also founded IPR License in 2012, a global rights licensing platform, which he sold in 2016. In 2019, Legend Times acquired University of Buckingham Press and in 2020 launched Hero, a non-fiction book publisher.
Tom has previously been shortlisted for UK Young Entrepreneur of the Year, UK Young Publisher of the Year, UK Young Publishing Entrepreneur of the Year, and longlisted for the Enterprising Young Brit Award. He was the 2018 winner of the Global Outstanding Young Person Award in the Big Ben Awards at the Houses of Parliament.
About Peter
Peter McCarthy is a Director of Consumer Insights at Ingram Content Group where he is responsible for marketing analytics, marketing and ecommerce Software-as-a-Service as well as developing furth consumer insights capabilities to support Ingram and its partners. He has over twenty-five years of publishing experience, ranging from technical and executive positions with The New York Review of Books, the Penguin Group, and Random House to consultancies and start-ups. He brings a strategic and technical approach to marketing and selling content and books at scale and speaks, writes about, and advises frequently on consumer marketing in the publishing space. Pete joined Ingram Content Group when they acquired OptiQly, a marketing technology company he co-founded, in 2017.
