Purpose of role:

To ensure that bibliographic data for all frontlist and backlist titles is accurate and complete, to maximise the effectiveness of that data for discoverability and sales, and to assist in the set-up and maintenance of projects to ensure timely delivery.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:

  1. To keep bibliographic details for all titles accurate, complete and up to date, including regular liaison with authors
  2. To manage exports from the bibliographic database, eg for sales partners, online catalogues
  3. To generate and edit Advance Information sheets for trade and academic reps and other sales materials, such as print catalogue interiors
  4. To check listings on vendor sites and fix issues in liaison with partners as necessary
  5. To upload title content files and metadata to trade platforms (eg NetGalley, Edelweiss, Lightning Source, CoreSource) and shared drives
  6. To capture and input reviews from a variety of sources on a regular basis
  7. To set up and maintain projects on inhouse systems (eg Asana, Trello) to ensure clear tracking, communication and issue resolution. Projects will include our 6-Minute Smarts book series.
  8. To do any appropriate ad hoc tasks that may be required to ensure the continued smooth running of the business.

Person specification:

This is an entry level role. The successful candidate will:

  1. Have excellent organisational and administrative skills, including experience with project management tools (Asana preferred).
  2. Be flexible, adaptable and able to cope with working under pressure.
  3. Be able to work independently and remotely.
  4. Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, including impeccable written English.
  5. Have excellent attention to detail.
  6. Be confident in the use of online systems, particularly cloud-based software, with experience of using bibliographic databases. Experience of Ingram systems such as Lightning Source and CoreSource desirable.

Hours: Part time and fully flexible, 24 hours per week

Location: Work from home

Salary: £22,500 pa pro rate
