We are looking for someone to join the marketing team looking after the needs of our university press clients.

We are recruiting a Marketing Executive to join the team at Mare Nostrum. We are a full service company providing dynamic distribution, sales marketing, data management and consultancy services to commercial and university press academic publishers. We are looking for someone to join the team looking after the marketing needs of our university press clients.

Duties of the role include:

  • Manage third party agencies/relationships
  • Deal with day to day enquiries from University Presses and their stakeholders including authors
  • Coordinate with authors to support their marketing efforts around publication
  • Contributing to and compiling client reporting platforms and reports
  • Provide proactive insights based on market knowledge to support stock ordering
  • Processing media requests
  • Designing, planning and executing email campaigns
  • Processing paid and gratis orders
  • Contributing to social media output representing our clients and authors
  • Producing flyers and catalogues for events, authors and sales colleagues
  • Creating tailored landing pages on the bookshop website for events and promotions
  • Attending academic conferences within the UK and EU to represent our client publishers’ books
  • Liaising with other internal departments including Logistics and Sales

Skills required:

  • 1+ year experience working in a sales or marketing role in publishing, client management would be a benefit
  • Proficient across Microsoft Office packages including Word and Excel
  • Knowledge of WordPress desirable
  • Good organisation skills with the ability to work on multiple projects
  • Working knowledge of design software such as InDesign, Affinity or Quark
  • Good communication skills
  • Good team player
