4 Questions for TLAC Printing and Publishing
This is an interview with Unambiguous Edit, and Miraz Manji and Andrew Weiner of TLAC Printing and Publishing. Both groups are hosts of a writing contest, That’s Write!, in collaboration with BookMachine and Wildfire Studio.
1. Tell us a little about TLAC Printing and Publishing.
TLAC Toronto Printing & Publishing specializes in self-publishing solutions. Whether it is your first book, or your latest title, we work with any and every demographic of writer.
We’re focused on producing high quality soft cover books and providing additional services to help writers promote their masterpiece on social media.
Our company takes great pride in providing great customer service, and we’re the highest rated print and publish service provider on Google; our clients like us because we’re passionate about providing top-level service, and motivated by our desire to lead new writers towards reaching their goals.
2. What’s your favourite part about the publishing process, in general, and at TLAC?
Every book you get an opportunity to work on is an adventure. The authors themselves are characters larger than those that appear in the novel. Especially when it comes to memoirs; hearing their story, the inspiration, and the meaning behind the words builds a bond between two people that is as personal and strong as any lifelong friendship. At TLAC, we are not just in the publishing business, we are in the relationships business. It is very rewarding.
3. In your opinion, what’s the benefit of this contest for writers?
Publishing is a very fragmented market to navigate, and the process of putting a book together so it looks like it belongs on a retail shelf requires the work of professionals. The winners of this contest will be rewarded with services and discounts from a team of top-rated publishing, editing, and design brands. It is an amazing opportunity, putting writers on the same level as the professional authors currently sold in stores.
4. What’s your hope for the outcome of That’s Write!?
Writers have a knack for putting their heart and soul into their work, and you can feel their emotions in the words as you read. With this contest our judges will have an incredibly difficult task choosing the best 3 from an incredibly diverse and talented pool of writers. The winners are going to get to see their valiant efforts come to life in print, and that is an incredible feeling: to hold the book in your hands. We are very excited to start reviewing the candidates and submissions!
