Peter McCarthy joins the BookMachine Editorial Board for 2022

Peter blog announcement

We’re pleased to announce that, from 2022, Peter McCarthy, Director of Consumer Insights at Ingram Content Group, will be joining the BookMachine Editorial Board to lead on our Marketing Stream!

He will be taking over from Rik Ubhi, who is now Editorial Director at Bonnier Books and will be joining Magdalene Abraha (Jacaranda Books) on the 2022 Editorial Stream.

As part of his role, Peter will co-programme and host our popular BookMachine Unplugged marketing event and also guide the direction of marketing-focussed blogs and courses on the site throughout 2022.

We very much hope that Peter’s arrival will enable our members to dip into his vast knowledge of marketing efficiency in order to develop their publishing careers, whilst ensuring that the BookMachine community itself increases its international reach.

Co-Founder of BookMachine, Laura Summers, says: “I’ve always known Peter McCarthy to be a leader in sophisticated digital marketing practices for books, and have had the pleasure of working with him over the past few years in his current role at Ingram Content Group. We look forward to having Pete’s input on our Editorial Board in 2022, and helping our community to develop their marketing skills as a result.”

Peter adds: “Since I first met the team several years ago, I’ve admired BookMachine’s mission to support publishing careers – particularly their focus on inclusivity. I have watched their growth with interest and seen the positive effect they’re having on the industry and those who love it. I am grateful to Laura for asking me to be part of it and am looking forward to supporting their efforts.”

Welcome to the team, Pete!
