BookMachine Works: 12 weeks after launch
It’s been 12 weeks since we launched BookMachine Works – a fresh new events and marketing agency, specialising in the publishing industry.
The idea of launching an agency had been brewing for a while. The BookMachine team had been organising events for a growing list of clients and it was the natural next step. At The London Book Fair 2017, we bit the bullet and invited you all to our launch event, which 100s of you attended.
It’s now 12 weeks in and we are working on some really interesting projects – we’ve been to Bologna to project manage the stand for Macmillan Children’s Books. Other projects include – managing email communications for a children’s publisher, communicating and advising on a publishing related competition, running many Facebook campaigns for start-ups and more established publishing businesses; and setting up email sequences for digital campaigns. We are also the marketing lead for a series of beautiful books to be developed for the iBookstore – due to launch this summer. The others on the team have just finished rewriting and project managing a re-design of 3 catalogues for an education publisher. We are planning lots of events this summer too.
We know that what we are particularly good at is bringing people together. The plan is to have a post-launch party 6 months after launch – that’s mid-September. We’ll share some marketing insights from recent projects, invite our newest clients, and cover the latest trends in events and marketing. We will make sure that everyone who attends meets someone interesting and learns something new.
In the meantime, if you think there are any trends that we should be talking about then please drop me a line.
